questa uscita repentina di nuove specifiche nn mi fa pensare nulla di buono...

nel senso che sono rimasti abbondantemente indietro e ora fanno dei "rattoppi"...
magari è 1 mia impressione eh, però ricordo che parecchie sono state le critiche al rilascio della 3 versione causa molte delle features promesse e decantate riposte nei cassetti...

OK, ho capito.

Magari la 3.1 nasce proprio per realizzare quanto promesso e non mantenuto con la 3.0...l'elenco delle novità 3.0 -> 3.1 è in effetti copioso ;)

speriamo visto che pian piano software house (anche quelle di software 3d nn ludico) si stanno mano a mano spostando su dx...

Per il discorso giochi, condivido il tuo timore e aggiungo che a mio parere la strada è ormai tracciata/segnata. Le DirectX sono divenute commercialmente troppo più forti a partire dalla discesa in campo di MS con la sua Xbox.

eh secondo me i giochi hanno oramai intrapreso quella via, avevo letto che pure Carmack avesse ammesso che le DX sono molto più avanti rispetto a OpenGL e che risultino più comode da usare...
tutto questo allontana per altro sempre più il discorso "portabilità" giochi su altre piattaforme tipo *nix :(
cmq anche altri software di design industriale iniziano a disporre del supporto dx9 affiancato al quello OpenGL standard...
