The GeForce FX is hit the hardest in Halo with results that look eerily similar to the Half-Life 2 benchmarks – both very new games. I will give Nvidia some benefit of the doubt since our Halo tests were done with a Beta version. However, the 5900 Ultra is quite a ways behind the 9800 Pro that unless there is some big bug in the beta that we have I find it hard to see them coming out on top. But the 5900 Ultra also loses in the Mother Nature and AquaMark 3 tests with FSAA/Anisotropic Filtering turned on. Nvidia is always telling us to turn up the settings so we gladly take their advice. Unfortunately they are still falling just a little behind when the settings are all turned up. The latest drivers, while they do offer some smaller increases here and there, can't catapult Nvidia into the lead just yet.
