dal 4 di Settembre, l'utente IceFire di Voodooalert, sta lavorando alla compilazione ed alla riscrittura dei driver 3dfx per voodoo 3/4/5.
Ha già ricompilato e reso disponibile un pacchetto che comprende:

- 3dfxvs.dll 2D/Direct3D/DirectDraw

- 3dfxvsm.dll Driver Miniport

Si possono abbinare ad i file glide2x, glide3x e OpenGL ICD.
Questa versione è un derivato dai driver originale 3dfx per Windows 2000 ed è stato modificato, come primo passo, per Windows XP.

L'intenzione dello sviluppatore è quella di rendere pubbliche, ed opensource, i metodi/programmi da utilizzare, le modifiche che ha apportato ad i file ricompilati, comprese le istruzioni per la ricompilazione.

Infine, portare i file ricompilati su Programmi/OS più moderni e recenti come GCC e Windows 10/11.

Così come dichiarato dallo sviluppatore, la scheda grafica che ha creato è identica alla 3dfx voodoo5 6000, stesso Bios, driver e le  performance (per ora) sono identiche alla scheda video 3dfx.

Questa scheda è stata creata con la tecnica di Reverse Engineering non distruttiva, grazie alla quale si è potuto ricavare l'intero schema elettrico, funzionale e la componentistica di una 3dfx originale senza distruggerla.
Aggiungerei anche che è stata migliorata vista la connessione PCI ed il nuovo pcb ridisegnato della scheda video!

La V56K originale gli è stata prestata da un mio carissimo amico che vive in Argentina, Alexey Chigirev, noto per la sua passione per il mondo 3Dfx e non solo.

A new Voodoo 5 6000!oohh

As stated by the developer, the graphics card he created is identical to the 3dfx voodoo5 6000, the same Bios, drivers and performance (for now) are identical to the 3dfx video card.

This board was created with the non-destructive Reverse Engineering technique, thanks to which it was possible to obtain the entire electrical and functional diagram and the components of an original 3dfx without destroying it.
I would also add that the PCI connection and the new redesigned pcb of the video card have been improved!

The original V56K was loaned to him by a very dear friend of mine who lives in Argentina, Alexey Chigirev, known for his passion for the 3Dfx world and beyond.

a luglio ho subito una intrusione sul mio accout FB.
Mi è arrivato un sms al numero di cel. registrato a FB, ho semplicemente "aperto l'sms" per leggerlo, non ho cliccato su link o altre cose strane, ma hanno comunque violato l'account.
L'sms proveniva, come intestazione, da Facebook.

Da allora ho subito altre 2 violazioni, l'ultima l'ho scoperta 2 giorni fa.

Ho nuovamente ripristinato l'account e rinforzato la sicurezza ma non so quanto durerà ancora...

Qualcuno di voi ha avuto un'esperienza del genere o ha una soluzione, oltre quella di chiudere l'account, per rendere più sicuro l'accesso alla mia pagina FB?

vi presento il mio primo Video HQ di Gaming con 3dfx.

Questo progetto è partito qualche mese fa con l'intento di portare dei nuovi contenuti, oltre alle modifiche hardware, atte a sfruttare questa tecnologia che amiamo tanto, quella creata da 3dfx, e l'hardware basato su questa piattaforma grafica 3D, che ha superato i vent'anni dalla nascita.

Il problema principale era quello di trovare i giusti componenti per acquisire, con una buona qualità visiva, il segnale video trasmesso dalle nostre amate voodoo.
Risolto questo primo problema, sono passato al prossimo:

Dovevo trovare una nuova configurazione hardware a supporto di questa mia idea.


Fortunatamente, mi sono imbattuto nella Vendita di un nostro amico e utente di Forumzone, Matteo Grossi aka teogros per il forum.

La configurazione che ho acquistato è la seguente:

- CPU: Intel Tualatin 1.266GHz
- Scheda madre: Asus TUSL2-C
- RAM: PowerMem SDRAM PC133 512 MB con ECC
- Disco rigido: Segate Barracuda 250 GB 7200 RPM
- Drive ottico: Pioneer DVD-Rom
- Scheda audio: Creative SoundBlaster 128 PCI
- Scheda di rete: 3Com Fast EtherLink XL 10 / 100Mb
- Alimentatore: Fortron FSP300 (300W)

La scheda madre è funzionante ma, causa condensatori elettrolitici (CPU) giunti a fine vita, necessita di un Recap completo.
Comunque, nonostante i freeze e riavvii, sono riuscito a sfruttarla per l'occasione.


Come scheda video, ho scelto la mia 3Dfx Voodoo5 5500 Agp Arctic Accelero L2 Plus Version.


Il sistema operativo è Microsoft Windows 98SE SP3
Come driver 3dfx, ho scelto Amigamerlin 2.9 win9x.


Il gioco da usare per questo primo video l'ho scelto a caso :

Unreal Gold con patch 227h

Dopo aver eseguito vari test di cattura video, cambiando solo la Risoluzione e lasciando i settaggi grafici di Unreal al massimo della qualità, ho raggiunto (per ora...) un giusto compromesso a 1280x1024.

La cattura video è stata eseguita con una risoluzione di 1080P a 50 fps.


Il risultato ottenuto lo potrete apprezzare direttamente con i vostri occhi.

Ringrazio 3dfxzone per aver ospitato sul canale YouTube il video da me creato, Forumzone per lo spazio che mi ha concesso e teogros per l'ottima configurazione hardware.

Ciao a tutti,
ho acquistato questa scheda video tempo fa.
Da subito ho riscontrato problemi di surriscaldamento, led che non si accendevano o che blinkavano senza motivo.

Problemi risolti, in parte, gestendo le performance del sistema di raffreddamento manualmente e fissando, dal pannello di controllo amd, una rotazione minima delle ventole, anche a scheda video fredda o appena avviata.
Così facendo, il led non hanno più problemi e non ci sono crash del pannello amd o dei driver.

Comunque, tutte le volte che, per un motivo o per l'altro, la configurazione si resetta e torna alle impostazioni di default, il/i problemi si ripresentano.

Com'è possibile che questa vga sia stata costruita così male?
Oppure è un problema della mia scheda video?

Ho le manine che mi prudono e chi mi conosce sa a cosa mi riferisco...
Ma non voglio invalidare la garanzia o creare ulteriori danni.

un Utente di 3dfxzone.it, Matteo Grossi, mi ha donato questa splendida scheda video della 3D-Labs, la Oxygen GVX1 AGP da 32 Mbyte.
La Oxigen è stata assemblata negli stabilimenti Irlandesi nel 1999, settimana 49, tra il 6 ed il 12 dicembre.

Questa scheda video, creata per l’uso professionale, è dotata di due ventole che, con il passare del tempo, si sono bloccate.
I dissipatori che le supportano, sono installati sui chip grafici mediante pasta termica ceramica.
Per questo motivo, non è possibile eseguire la manutenzione.

Le ventole bloccate, specialmente quella piccola, provocano un surriscaldamento eccessivo ed il crash immediato della Oxygen.

Dopo uno scrupoloso e delicato smontaggio dei dissipatori, ho eseguito una pulizia accurata dei chip grafici installati sulla GVX1.

Grazie alla pulizia eseguita, ho potuto accedere ai cuscinetti delle ventole eseguendo la lubrificazione delle suddette.

Prima della manutenzione, ho levigato i dissipatori in alluminio per dargli planarità ed aderire ai chip grafici.

In fine, con del biadesivo termoconduttivo, ho riposizionato e fissato i dissipatori sulla scheda video.

Grazie a questa manutenzione, la Oxygen ha ripreso a funzionare correttamente, dandomi la possibilità di eseguire dei test grafici che hanno confermato il corretto funzionamento.

a user of 3dfxzone.it, Matteo Grossi, gave me this splendid video card from 3D-Labs, the 32 Mbyte Oxygen GVX1 AGP.
The Oxigen was assembled in the Irish factories in 1999, week 49, between 6 and 12 December.

This video card, created for professional use, is equipped with two fans which, over time, have become blocked.
The heatsinks that support them are installed on the graphics chips using ceramic thermal paste.
For this reason, maintenance is not possible.

The blocked fans, especially the small one, cause excessive overheating and the immediate crash of the Oxygen.

After a scrupulous and delicate disassembly of the heatsinks, I performed a thorough cleaning of the graphics chips installed on the GVX1.

Thanks to the cleaning performed, I was able to access the fan bearings by performing the lubrication of the aforementioned.

Before maintenance, I sanded the aluminum heatsinks to give them flatness and adhere to the graphics chips.

Finally, with thermally conductive double-sided tape, I repositioned and fixed the heatsinks on the video card.

Thanks to this maintenance, the Oxygen has resumed working properly, giving me the opportunity to perform graphical tests that have confirmed correct operation.

Nuovo aggiornamento su i test di stabilità eseguiti con la nuova King Shaman 2:

"Durante i test di King Shaman 2, è stata creata una tabella con alcuni risultati di benchmark.
La ragione principale di questo test è stata quella di constatare come il bridge PCI-PCI influenzi le prestazioni della configurazione V2 SLI.
La risposta è: tutte le V2 si comportano sempre allo stesso modo, indipendentemente dal bridge o meno.
Alcuni risultati interessanti riguardano anche le prestazioni dei sistemi testati.
Basta guardare le configurazioni i440BX, come superano le prestazioni dei loro pari quando un'enorme quantità di dati viene trasferita tramite bus PCI.
Questo è il motivo per cui il chipset BX è la soluzione migliore anche per PowerVR PCX."

questa scheda video è basata sulla tecnologia 3dfx creata più di 20 anni fa, ed é composta da due schede video 3dfx voodoo 2 da 12 MB, per un totale di 24 MB, unite in un unico PCP costruito da zero.

Inoltre, King Shaman 2, ha la possibilità di installare un modulo video aggiuntivo, composto dal chip S3 375 e supportato da un 4MB dedicati.
Con questo modulo aggiuntivo, King Shaman 2 diventa totalmente indipendente!
Basta selezionare lo slot pci, come scheda video principale, dal BIOS della scheda madre.
Il chip S3 gestirà i giochi 2D sotto Dos, mentre la sezione 3dfx gestirà la sezione D3D e 3dfx Glide.

Può anche essere combinato con una potente scheda video, grazie alla porta vga through, come nella classica voodoo 2 creata da 3dfx.
Questo ti permetterà anche di sfruttare tutte le applicazioni compatibili con le schede video Nvidia e Ati.
Quando avvii l'applicazione o il gioco da utilizzare, secondo necessità, lo switch interno del King Shaman 2 si occuperà di tutto scegliendo la periferica più adatta: 2D, D3Dfx, Glide, etc etc...

Grazie alla guida dettagliata creata dal nostro Anthony K., tutto questo è possibile.

Tutto ciò di cui hai bisogno sono:
competenze di base di saldatura;
una V5 5500 da modificare.

Dopo questa mod, la Voodoo 5 è ancora in grado di funzionare con le schede madri AGP 2x 3.3v.
 
I sistemi testati con AGP 1.5v mod sono:
i815;
i845;
i865;
i875.

why don't we make a 3Dfx Voodoo 5 5500 compatible with the Agp 4x at 1,5v?
Thanks to the detailed guide created by our Anthony K., all this is possible.
All you need are:
basic welding skills;
a V5 5500 to be modified.
After this mod, the Voodoo 5 is still able to work with AGP 2x 3.3v motherboards.
Systems tested with AGP 1.5v mod are:
i815;
i845;
i865;
i875.

voglio presentarvi una creazione di Daniel Simionescu http://sdz-mods.com, un'altro grande sostenitore ed appassionato del mondo 3Dfx.
Grazie a questa add-on card è possibile aggiungere l'uscita Hdmi (dvi con cavo adattatore) ad una normale Voodoo2.
Così com'è stato segnalato dallo sviluppatore, grazie a qualche modifica hardware, è possibile aggiungere questa add-on card anche ad una Voodoo 1.
Oltre questo progetto che è ancora in fase di sviluppo avanzata, prosegue lo sviluppo:

PCI to AGP adapter
PCIe x4 to AGP 1.0 1x bridge
PCIe x4 to PCI 32 bit bridge

Inoltre si possono trovare:

I want to present you a creation by Daniel Simionescu http://sdz-mods.com, another great supporter and enthusiast of the 3Dfx world.
Thanks to this add-on card it is possible to add the HDMI output (dvi with adapter cable) to a normal Voodoo2.
As reported by the developer, thanks to some hardware changes, it is possible to add this add-on card also to a Voodoo 1.
In addition to this project, which is still in an advanced stage of development, the development continues:

PCI to AGP adapter
PCIe x4 to AGP 1.0 1x bridge
PCIe x4 to PCI 32 bit bridge

Prime prove in pista della Changeling.
é stata testata con varie configurazioni hardware, clock standard a 166mhz, driver sfft e winXP.
Lo scopo di questi test era quello di capire il beneficio di una CPU più veloce piuttosto che ottenere il massimo fps.
È stato anche trovato un bug di velocità della CPU nei driver winXP.
Una frequenza superiore a 3.16 GHz porterà a blocchi oltre che ad una velocità troppo alta di FSB.
I driver Win98 sono liberi da questo bug e la Changeling funziona bene insieme ad una Cpu Core 2 Duo X6800 3.55 GHz.
Ecco uno schema dei test eseguiti:

has been tested with various hardware configurations, standard clock at 166mhz, sfft driver and winXP.
The purpose of these tests was to understand the benefit of a faster CPU rather than getting the maximum fps.
A CPU speed bug was also found in winXP drivers.
A frequency above 3.16 GHz will lead to blockages as well as too high a speed of FSB.
The Win98 drivers are free of this bug and the Changeling works well together with a Core 2 Duo X6800 3.55 GHz CPU.

Come segnalato dallo sviluppatore, la Changeling ha 64Mb.
è compatibile con lo slot Agp 4x come una normale Voodoo 4 4500.
L'uscita video HDMI puo essere collegata anche ad un monitor con Dvi con cavo adattatore che ho allegato in foto.

Tra le novità evidenti c'è la compatibilità con l'Agp 1,5v e 3.3v e l'uscita video HDMI.

il modulo CT1950R, creato da Anthony K. , l'espansione di memoria per AWE64, è in vendita.




Compatibile con tutte le versioni AWE64 Value, Gold e Regular.
Per l'installazione basta collegare l'espansione, installare la scheda audio ed installare i driver.

Sono disponibili due versioni, un Modulo da 24MB ed un modulo da 28MB.

I prezzi:
