Hi,
What a big post, it must have taken you some time to write it. Well to be honest I was'nt there from the beginning. I got interested in 3dfx when voodoo2 was released and I bought my first one when voodoo3 was released(v3 2000). The company certainly deserves to be remembered as the pioneer in 3D graphics. Its now 4 years since the company is no more. But like they said :
And they are right. Look at us now....4 years later and the voodoo feelings are still there. The company will never completely die. There is nothing to be sad about in my opinion. At least now 3dfx left us as the king of 3D graphics. And...but this is only a personal thing, they gave us the mighty voodoo 5 6000. I remember very well when I first read about it. I can almost dream the sentences :
yep.. those where the good old days.
I never had money for it and when it was cancelled I was very dissapointed. However because of people like Hank and Amigamerlin (there are more of course) we can continue to use our cards, and I even got my v5 6000.
So, 15/12/2000 is certainly a day to remeber, but nothing to be sad about
