Se il bios è ben settato e la mobo supporta l'installazione diretta da cd non ci dovrebbero essere problemi senza floppy..
Può essere che sia un problema nel canale primario ide.. Prova a passare le periferiche sul secondario o a dividerle tra i due..

ho provato proprio 2 giorni fa: disabilitando i floppy dal bios i winzozz9x si installano senza problemi, a parte che vedono una fantomatica periferica a: rimovibile inesistente :)
