propongo questo benchmark sulla CPU usando la versione 4.57 del famoso compressore gratuito ;)
allego il mio risultato (fatto su 3 passaggi)

allora il mio risultato è dato da:
-> athlon amd64 4800 X2
-> 2giga di ram ddr2 800mhz {dual channel}
-> Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 con chipset AMD 690V

Applicazioni di questo tipo danno una misura molto realistica della potenza di calcolo di un sistema.

Tuttavia, non hai fornito indicazioni in merito alla tua configurazione (almeno chip-set della mobo, processore e RAM), cosa non poco utile perchè può essere usata come riferimento dagli altri ;)

in decompressione il vantaggio è per altro abbastanza notevole da parte amd

Credo che il divario in decompressione sia dovuto al disco da 5400rpm.

ti swappa con 2 giga di ram? ne usa solo 450 circa...

Non so come funzioni internamente il benckmark, se non è il disco potrebbero essere le ram da 667MHZ, oppure nessuno dei due

per quanto ne so io, l'architettura degli athlon64 funziona molto bene con operazioni stile decompressione:)
