Questa è una grande news, poche ore fa, l`istituto di statistiche Gartner/Dataquest Worldwide ha annunciato che la quota di mercato (marketshare) di AMD, è salita di ben il 19% nel 2° trimestre 2002 rispetto al 2° trimestre del 2001, infatti quest`anno sono stati venduti molti più PC Desktop e portatili con Cpu AMD e OS Windows.
Comunque ecco tutti i dati, in percentuale, che vi mostrano la crescita di AMD nei vari settori dei PC Desktop e portatili:


- Among consumers buying Windows-based desktop and mobile computers for their homes, AMD`s market share increased from 25 to 27 percent.
- Buyers of desktop and mobile computers in medium-sized and large businesses boosted AMD`s market share from 14 to 15 percent in medium businesses (500-999 employees), and from 7 to 8 percent in large businesses (1,000 or more employees).
- AMD`s market share of Windows-based government desktop and mobile computers grew from 16 to 18 percent.
- In the worldwide market for mobile computing processors across all segments, we doubled AMD`s market share, from 6 to 12 percent.
