CitazioneEPoX 8K9A2+ is part of the 8K9A series of mainboard featuring the VIA KT400 chipset. 8K9A2+ tops the series with the following features : POST PORT (what we call Debug LED), LAN, HPT372 RAID and SerialATA. The Mainboard featuring 6 PCI, 1 AGP (8x), 2 channels of IDE (ATA133, Blue) , 2 channels of IDE RAID (ATA 133 RAID, Red), Serial ATA (2 ports), 6 channel audio using ALC650

The package comes with lots of goodies. Other than the manuals, CDROM, USB bracket, CDROM, it also provides rounded cables and a SATA cable.

Stylish Blue lit heatsink fan. Looks like the trend of having blue leds on handphone has come to mainboards. Would we be seeing more colourful mainboards in the future? Definitely.

On board are the chipsets, Silicon Image's SATA chip SATALink and SATA connectors, Highpoint HPT372 RAID chipset supporting ATA133 RAID 0/1/0+1. Standard blue coloured ATA133 IDE channels.

6 PCI, 1 AGP 8x slot, the ALC 650 6 ch audio chipset.

3 DDR DIMM slots supporting DDR 200/266/333 and unofficial DDR400

The back plate with expansion capabilities, 4 USB, LAN, 6 ch audio, COM, parallel, keyboard and mouse ports

EPoX 8K9A2+ features quite a number of BIOS options. The CPU Clock can be adjusted from 100 ~ 255Mhz at 1 Mhz steppings. Watching Dog timer can be turned on so that if the system can't POST at high FSB initally (for overclocking), it will reset to defaults to POST. DRAM type, you can select DDR 266, 333, DDR 400 - this amounts to setting what Async DDR mode you are running at.

Voltage control wise, you can change the Vcore by adding up to +0.7v to the DIMM

As for Vcore you can select up to 2.000v

This BIOS has been programmed to suit users who likes to try their systems which most online editors test. When you set it to Ultra mode, it automatically set it to the most aggressive timings. CAS 2, 2-2-5, 8 etc as shown on the screen below. Do take note that the timing below might not work with well on certain rams that are not up to spec.
